maybe i missed something but I dont understand what the big deal is? I've only seen one or 2 people (you being one of them) saying they are leaving.

It was the "hiding" of interets that pushed me finally. People with gay/lesbian interests, BDSM, pagan, etc are now going to have those interests 'hidden'. Basically those with similar lifestyles or interests are going to have a difficult time finding others with same interests if they come to LJ.

It's very close to 'profiling' to keep certain types of people away. At least to me, that is what it feels like. So, yeah, I'm pretty much leaving. However, for those that want to stay on LJ, I think that is fine. Those that feel like I do and wish to leave, that is fine as well. I really didn't agree with anyone who snarked on the folks that chose to observe the recent strike and those that didn't. Each side, and both sides were guilty of snarking and nasty comments starting drama, etc. That I don't agree with. I think people forgot that it was our choice to start an LJ. If we want to stay, leave, or whatever is our choice too. No one should have justify their reasons. So many folks have been drawn into the drama around it. I was lucky and non of that drama came to any of my journals. But I saw the arguments in other journals. Anyhow, I choose to leave LJ and some people have found me on IJ. They most likely will stay on LJ as well. That's fine. I'm grateful for those who chose to join IJ so I can continue to read them. For those that want to stay here, that is ok too. I may actually check in from time to time instead of permentanty deleting. Right now, I'm leaning towards deleting. *hugs*
